Phillies Walk-Off in Grand Fashion

The Phillies faced off against the Marlins from Miami Little League this evening.  After the offense was silent for most the game, the Phillies trailed 2-0 before eventually tying things up at 2 apiece.  After falling behind 3-2 in the tenth the Phillies tied things back up yet again in the bottom half of the frame, before walking off in the eleventh to win 7-3.
I hope you weren't sleeping like this dog when this game ended.  Read on!
Jonathan Pettibone got the start and was solid, tossing six innings while allowing 2 runs, only 1 earned.  After leaving the game trailing due to no offensive support, Pettibone was replaced by Jeremy Horst who threw one scoreless inning.  Mike Adams and Jonathan Papelbon tossed a scoreless eighth and ninth respectively before Antonio Bastardo came on to pitch the tenth.  Bastardo walked Juan Pierre to start the inning, with Pierre eventually scoring on a wild pitch.  Michael Stutes came on to pitch in a tie game in the eleventh and picked up the win after the Phillies walked off in the bottom half of the inning.
The Phillies offense didn't arrive at Citizens Bank Park tonight until the seventh inning.  After the bats were silenced for the first six innings, the Phillies tied things up in the seventh with the help of Delmon Young and Erik Kratz's RBI doubles.  John Mayberry Jr. tied things up in the tenth with a solo home run.  In a tie game in the bottom of the eleventh, the Phillies loaded the bases.  That's when John Mayberry Jr. stepped to the plate yet again with the chance to be a hero.  Mayberry smacked a line drive that just cleared the fence for a walk-off grand slam, as the Phillies won 7-3.
On a side note, the Phillies were shafted by the second base umpire in the eighth inning, when he called Ben Revere out for interference when he slid head first into second.  How this was in any way interference, we will never know, but its safe to say it was a blown call and that umpire is terrible.  Silver lining, the fans booed the umpires for two innings straight after the blow call, reminding us all just how amazing Philadelphia sports fans are.
The Phillies will finish the series against the Marlins up tomorrow before heading to Milwaukee.  Cole Hamels will make the start for the Phillies in the afternoon contest as they look to take the series.
