Phillies Fall to Brewers Again

The Phillies stumbled yet again today as they dropped yet another game to the Brewers.  The Phillies seem to have a phobia about scoring more than 3 runs this season and today was no different, as they lost 4-3.
This Phillies ice sculpture represents just how ice cold the offense has been all season.  Read on!

Tyler Cloyd received today's start and did all he could to put the Phillies in a position to win, but its hard to do that when your offense hits worse than a tee-ball team (Dom Brown excluded).  Cloyd tossed seven innings, scattering 3 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits.  Mike Adams came on to pitch the eighth and surrendered a solo home run to help extend the Brewers lead to 4-2, before Antonio Bastardo pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
In yet another slow day for the offense, Ben Revere went 1 for 4 with a double, while Erik Kratz and Kevin Frandsen each went 1 for 4 as well with an RBI.  Dom Brown finally didn't hit a home run but he did have a single on the afternoon.  Cesar Hernandez went 3 for 5 at the plate with a double, while his partner in the middle of the infield for the day, Freddy Galvis decided to make things interesting, hitting a home run to lead off the ninth and pull the Phillies within one run.  After the home run, things got interesting, as the Phillies had a man on second, when a blown call on a pick off attempt by the ump cost them that runner.  To make it sting worse, the next pitch was hit for a double by Hernandez, so its safe to say the umpire may have cost the Phillies this game.
The Phillies will now look to salvage one win out of this series as they face the Brewers tomorrow with Cliff Lee getting the start.  After tomorrow the Phillies will welcome the Single A Marlins to town in what will hopefully help get this offense started.
