Brown Hotter Than a Volcano, Phillies Win

The Phillies won their second straight game tonight as they topped the Rookie League Marlins by a score of 7-2.  The Phillies were firing on all cylinders tonight, as they received dominant pitching and an outburst from the offense.

This is how I feel about tonight's game.  Read on companions!

Kyle Kendrick got the start for the Phillies and was superb as he dominated this minor league lineup the Marlins field.  Kendrick tossed a complete game, only allowing two runs.  He continues to be the Phillies second best pitcher in 2013, in a close race with Cliff Lee, and finally appears to be putting it all together.
The Phillies fell behind 2-0, but in the fifth inning began a scoring barrage.  Erik Kratz homered to put the Phillies on the board, and they would score twice more in the inning after Ben Revere knocked in Kyle Kendrick following the pitchers triple.  On a side note Kendrick slid head first into third which was cool to see a pitcher do.  The Phillies scored 4 more runs in the sixth, as Dom Brown hit a two run home run, his seventeenth of the season, followed by a Delmon Young solo shot.  One more run would score and the Phillies had the game all but sealed with a 7-2 lead.
Ben Revere and Erik Kratz each collected two hits on the evening but as has been the trend the past month, Dom Brown was the player of the game.  Brown continues to heat up, going 3 for 4 on the night with a home run and 2 RBI's.  Brown is finally realizing his potential and its just fantastic to see.
The Phillies will be back in action tomorrow against the Marlins, Jonathan Pettibone will get the start.
