Phillies Drop Game, Series to Dodgers

The Phillies dropped yet another game this afternoon as they fell to the Dodgers 6 to 1. The Phillies lost 3 of 4 out in L.A. and still look lost on the field. Two days after breaking out for 16 runs, the Phillies typical offense showed back up as they struggled to produce in any way.

Just a quick few notes on some familiar names who played in the Philadelphia area and where they will be attempting to make an impact in order to gain a roster spot. While Khalif Wyatt, Ramon Galloway and C.J. Aiken did not hear there names called at the draft, it does not mean they won't get a chance.

2013 Sixers Draft Review: A Crazy Night

The roster moves that the Sixers made in the 2013 NBA draft will have a serious impact on the future of the franchise for the next decade. In a night of madness full of trades and rumors, Philadelphia traded their thought-to-be franchise cornerstone in Jrue Holiday, ended up with the projected number one overall pick, and now hold two 1st round picks in next year's loaded draft. In his first draft as Philadelphia's GM, Sam Hinkie made sure his influence would be felt on the franchise, whether it be a surprising success or a disaster.

So it's been a while since we've covered the Flyers on the beat.  Albeit, there hasn't been much to cover. Thankfully the new season is less than 4 months away, the draft is in a week and the offseason moves are starting to take shape.

The Phillies closed out today's series with the Miami High School Marlins, winning 6-1 to sweep the rotting fish right out of town.  The Phillies are now on a four game win streak and sit with a .500 record for the first time since Wheels had his real hair.
Nothing more American than a Phillies sweep.  Read onward!

Phillies Walk-Off in Grand Fashion

The Phillies faced off against the Marlins from Miami Little League this evening.  After the offense was silent for most the game, the Phillies trailed 2-0 before eventually tying things up at 2 apiece.  After falling behind 3-2 in the tenth the Phillies tied things back up yet again in the bottom half of the frame, before walking off in the eleventh to win 7-3.

The Phillies were able to salvage the last game of the series against the Brewers this afternoon with a 7-5 win.  An early outburst from what has often been a stagnant offense this year allowed the Phillies to hold on for a victory in the end.

Phillies Fall to Brewers Again

The Phillies stumbled yet again today as they dropped yet another game to the Brewers.  The Phillies seem to have a phobia about scoring more than 3 runs this season and today was no different, as they lost 4-3.
This Phillies ice sculpture represents just how ice cold the offense has been all season.  Read on!
