This is the German Sheppard puppy I'm getting in two weeks. Adorable right? Read on! |
Kyle Kendrick got the start for the Phillies and tossed six innings while allowing 4 runs on 10 hits. Kendrick wasn't his best, but even if he had been, you can't win without scoring (something so obvious Wheels probably pointed it out too). Phillippe Aumont came on to toss a scoreless seventh inning before Jake Diekman came on to allow two runs in the eighth, while only recording one out, to extend the Dodgers lead to 6. Justin De Fratus was next in line and thankfully stopped the bleeding, recording the final two outs of the inning.
Keeping with the trend of this season (and the past few), the offense was pretty atrocious. The Phillies squeaked out only 6 hits, with 2 of them coming in the ninth. Jimmy Rollins hit an RBI single to plate Utley, for his second hit of the day and the only Phillies RBI. Side note, Kyle Kendrick was hit in the head by a pitch in the game and wore it like a mitten, for that we applaud his toughness (must be the name Kyle, because all I could do in Little League was get hit by pitches).
So now, the 39-44 Phillies will have a day off before starting a series in Pittsburgh. I know what you're thinking, "sweet the Pirates are always terrible this should be some easy wins." Well my friends, nothing is easy for this team, oh and by the way the Pirates lead the majors in wins with 50, so we're most likely in trouble. Jonathan Pettibone will start that game for the Phillies.
Hopefully you all saved yourself the agony of watching this game and watched the NHL Draft, but hey at least the Phillies can't lose tomorrow.
